I am an American actor and theater artist of North African and Western European descent. I grew up in the Midwest and am currently based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Throughout my college and early professional years, I acted, directed, taught, and stage managed. Now, I am focused on performing onstage and on camera and am exploring producing.
Artistic Focus
I’m most interested in crafting stories that make us think about who holds power and why. By paying attention to the ‘what,’ ‘why,’ and ‘how’ of power within relationships (interpersonal, community, and societal), we make room to explore the ‘so what’ of power as well: understanding how power (or lack of it) can influence behavior, seeing the material differences that ‘power over’ vs. ‘power with’ can make in all kinds of relationships, and deciding if and how we want to change the power status quos in our lives. I believe that through first tackling these questions within imagined worlds, we practice the skills we need to work through these same questions in our lives outside the theater.
My goal as an artist is to leave audience members inspired to examine how power plays out in their own lives and encouraged to use their power to build a world full of empathy, accountability, equity, and liberation.
